USATF Oregon State Meet Recap + Regional Declarations

BTC Parents,

Great job to all who competed yesterday! It was so great to see all the BTC athletes and families out in the elements today at State. We had a great day as a team, winning ALL 8 races. We also had five individual champions in Lucie Zito (8U Girls), Graham Brooks (8U Boys), Harper Fawcett (9-10 girls), Quinn Hanley (11-12 girls) and Brady Lukasiewicz (13-14 boys) and many top place finishes across all races. We have a lot to be proud of as a club ! We’ll be sending 12 teams to Regionals as well as a few individuals!

We are aware there are some issues with the State results! USATF Oregon is reviewing this now. Ultimately the most important thing is that you fill out the declaration below to indicate if you plan to compete at Regionals or not.

Below is information and declarations for USATF Regionals. Declarations for Regionals are due Thursday, Nov 16th (11/16) by 12:00pm. No late entries will be allowed.

Please see all of the information below regarding Regionals and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. It’s very important to us that we have as many athletes who qualified at State race at Regionals!

Regionals Info - Official Website

The regional meet will be held in Athol, Idaho at Farragut State Park. Drive time is about 6 hours from Portland depending on the part of the city you live in. It is important to us to have as many kids race regionals that have qualified, especially if we only have one team qualified to race.

Keep this in mind when deciding on travel plans - if you are interested in driving up the day of the race, it it more feasible to do so for some of the older kids that race later in the day.

Regionals Declaration

In preparing for sending our teams to regionals, we need everyone that ran this weekend to declare if they plan to attend regionals or not.  For the declaration process, please follow the steps below even if you don't plan to run regionals. We have limited time with Regionals being this weekend so we want to have our entries finalized as soon as possible, so please declare ASAP!

NOTE ABOUT QUALIFICATION:

Note, only those who ran the state meet this weekend are eligible to run at regionals. In order to qualify for regionals you need to be in the top 35 individually or one of the top 5 teams. Each team that we qualified can have up to 8 people on it. In some age groups we qualified 1-2 teams which means our top 8 or 16 BTC finishers are qualified as part of those teams. I does not matter which BTC team you were registered under for the state meet. If we qualified a team and you were in the top 8 BTC finishers, you have first rights to the team spot.

Step 1: Check Qualifiers List - BOYS LIST / GIRLS LIST

On the Qualifiers List, all names highlighted in GREEN are currently qualified for regionals individually or part of a team. All names not highlighted are not currently qualified, but will be offered a spot on the team in the order they appear if anyone qualified declines their spot at regionals.

STEP 2: Declare Yes or No for Regionals - CLICK HERE

Enter your name and yes or no declaring your plans to attend regionals.  As everyone declares, we will update the qualifiers list (may have a couple hours delay in updating once you declare).  If you are someone on the waitlist, you can get an idea of your chances of getting bumped up as people in front of you declare.  If you have multiple children, fill out the declaration for each of them.

STEP 3: Payment for Regionals -

Payment for Regionals will be set up at a later date for those planning to race. You must pay the entry fee before your athlete is registered. There is an $15 entry fee for the Regional meet.

Nationals Hotel Block

For Nationals, we have reserved a block of rooms so we can have most everyone in the same spot.  The hotel is the Drury Inn Louisville East. We have a mix of double and single king bed rooms. If you are planning to attend as one parent with one athlete, we ask that you try to reserve the king rooms so we can have families in the double. We’d love to have everyone at the same hotel if possible! We have until after Regionals before any remaining rooms are released so we recommend booking early as it is first come, first serve. Our block of rooms is reserved for Thursday (12/7), Friday (12/8) and Saturday (12/9).
