2023 USATF Nationals Entires + Other Important Info
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW! PLEASE READ ALL!
No practices will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd. Last practices of the season will be held:
Beaverton/Sherwood and Lake Oswego (all at Nike!): Monday, 12/04
North Portland: Monday, 12/04
NE/Eastside: Tuesday, 12/05
The deadline for Nationals declaration is Dec 4th, 5:00pm. We need everyone that ran regionals to declare if they plan to attend Nationals or not. For the declaration process, please follow the steps below even if you don't plan to run Nationals. This is very important and needs to be taken care of ASAP.
Nationals Qualifiers
Overview of qualifiers by age group:
8&U Girls - 1 Team Qualified (Top 8 BTC Athletes)
8&U Boys - 3 Individuals Qualified
9-10 Girls - 1 Teams Qualified (Top 8 BTC Athletes)
9-10 Boys- 1 Teams Qualified (Top 8 BTC Athletes)
11-12 Girls - 2 Individuals Qualified
11-12 Boys - 1 Individual Qualified
13-14 Girls- 1 Individual Qualified
13-14 Boys- 1 Team Qualified (Top 8 BTC Athletes)
The spots to fill nationals teams will be offered in descending order based on regionals finish. If anyone who has qualified as part of a team for nationals turns down their spot, the spot will be offered to the next person on our list. To declare yourself for nationals please follow the steps below.
Nationals Declarations
NOTE ABOUT QUALIFICATION:
In order to qualify for Nationals you need to be in the top 30 individually or one of the top 5 teams. Each team that we qualified can have up to 8 people on it. I does not matter which BTC team you were registered under for the regional meet. If we qualified a team and you were in the top 8 BTC finishers, you have first rights to the team spot.
Step 1: Check Qualifiers List - LIST
On the Qualifiers List, all names highlighted in GREEN are currently qualified for Nationals as part of a team. All names not highlighted are not currently qualified, but will be offered a spot on the team in the order they appear if anyone qualified declines their spot at nationals. Names listed with NO under Declaration are either ineligible or have turned down their spot.
STEP 2: Declare Yes or No for Nationals - CLICK HERE
Enter your name and yes or no declaring your plans to attend Nationals. As everyone declares, we will update the qualifiers list (may have a couple hours delay in updating once you declare). If you are someone on the waitlist, you can get an idea of your chances of getting bumped up as people in front of you declare. If you have multiple children, fill out the declaration for each of them.
STEP 3: Nationals Payment-
Entry for Nationals is $20 Payment for Nationals will be sent out after final declarations.
USATF National Meet (Saturday, December 9th)
Where: Tom Sawyer Park
Schedule: Races every 30 minutes starting with Girls 8&U @ 9:00 AM

Travel: Each family is in charge of their own travel to and from Nationals. Most of the coaches and team will travel down on Thursday and return Sunday, but feel free to make alternative plans as long as you will be there for the race on Saturday!
Flights: Flights to Louisville (SDF) are the best bet. Nationals travel can be a good opportunity to use airline companion tickets if you have any of those as well.
If costs are an issue, please email youth@bowermantc.com to inquire about Youth Nationals Scholarships. We do not want cost to be an issue for an athlete wanting to attend Nationals.
Nationals Hotel Block
We have reserved a block of rooms so we can have most everyone in the same spot. The hotel is the Drury Inn Louisville East. We have a mix of double and single king bed rooms. If you are planning to attend as one parent with one athlete, we ask that you try to reserve the king rooms so we can have families in the double. We’d love to have everyone at the same hotel if possible! Our block of rooms is reserved for Thursday (12/7), Friday (12/8) and Saturday (12/9). Go to the Drury Inn website and put in those dates and group codes and the options will come up either a King single or Double room. The cancelation date is 11:59pm CST on 11/22/23.

Nationals Dinners
We will be conducting a pre-race team dinner on Friday night. We will also likely try to gather for something simple like pizza on Saturday night. Families are encouraged and welcome to join! The cost of Friday dinner will be a maximum of $10 per person. We will pay for the dinner up front and then we ask that you pay us afterwards. We hope to see everyone there. Please fill out the dinner sign-up below ASAP!

2023 BTC Year End Banquet
Our annual BTC banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th @ 6:00 pm. The banquet will be held in the Tiger Woods Building on the Nike Campus. Dinner and drinks will be provided and there will be a cash bar. All our youth athletes and families are welcome to attend. We will recognize the 2023 highlights of the youth program as well as the other parts of our club, including the Masters, Elites and Pros.
