POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Youth Programming will play a key role in leading and expanding the Bowerman Track Club Youth program and development initiatives. This position requires a creative and organized self-starter who can work independently, thrives in a team environment, and is passionate about youth empowerment through sport.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Youth Programming
Oversee all aspects of BTC’s youth programs, including scheduling, training development, coach staffing, registration, and logistics.
Attend weekly practices and competitions for cross country and track seasons
Serve as the primary point of contact for families, youth athletes, and volunteer coaches.
Create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for young athletes of all backgrounds and abilities.
Expand program reach through partnerships with local schools, clubs, and community organizations.
Lead a team of coaches, parents and volunteers to safely and effectively develop 300+ youth athletes throughout the entire year.
Plan and execute youth clinics, camps, and events in coordination with the larger BTC calendar.
General & Cross-Functional
Work closely with the broader BTC leadership team, athletes, and staff to align initiatives and maintain brand integrity.
Attend, support and expand key BTC events as available outside of key youth programming moments (Bowerman 5k, community outreach, etc.).
Manage budgets for youth programming.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in marketing, youth programming, or nonprofit management (ideally within the sports space).
5+ years of experience as an athlete, coach or volunteer in Cross Country and Track & Field
Strong writing, content creation, and digital media skills.
Experience working with youth programs, camps, or teams.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Experience in partnership or grant writing, a major plus.
Proficient in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media platforms, Google Workspace, and basic website CMS, such as squarespace, a major plus.
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

DETAILS & COMPENSATION
$30,000 - $60,000 Annually depending on experience and growth opportunities
Project expenses and travel covered
